Healthy Food
Ananda Pieterse and Jeanie Nel are two Dietitians with four well established practices in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
These practices are open Monday to Friday from 9h00 – 18h00 and Saturdays by appointment from 9h00 – 12h00, where either one of them will see patients.
They also do Vitality Nutrition Assessments as part of the Vitality Nutrition Programme.
The practices are based in Brackenfell, Edgemead, Kuils River, Tyger Waterfront and they also started recently at the Cape Gate Therapy Centre.
They can also assist with home visits if necessary.

In short the role of a dietitian is to translate the science of nutrition into everyday information about food.
We undertake the practical application of nutrition with all individuals to promote the well being of individuals and communities to prevent nutrition related problems.  We are also involved in diagnoses and dietary treatment and disease.
Dietitians work with people who have specific dietary needs, inform the general public about nutrition, give unbiased advice, evaluate and improve treatments, educate also clients, doctors, nurses, health professionals and community groups.
Both hospital, community and private practice dietitians educate people who need specific diets/ meal plans as part of their treatments, for example patients with:
Healthy Diet
Kidney disease
Heart disease, Hypertension, Hypercholesterolemia
Food Allergies
Eating Disorders
Children with ADHD/ ADD
HIV/ Aids
Diabetes, Insulin Resistance
Obesity (Adults and Children)
Reflux, Spastic Colon

Like water, love and oxygen – we cannot live without food. But unlike water, love and oxygen we get to choose the kind and quality of the food we fuel our bodies with – a choice that's guaranteed to have an impact on the longevity and livability of life – Dr. Michael Mol (MBChB).

Therefore we as Dietitians can help young and old to improve there quality of life, by improving lifestyle with good and balanced nutrition.
