Children
with ADHD, inattention, easy distractibility,
disorganisation and other cognitive
disabilities benefit greatly from Equitherapy,
which involves
the use of ponies to help children gain
better focus and concentration.
We incorporate fun and stimulating exercises
that contribute towards fine and
gross motor skills development and
sensory integration, which is
needed for the best possible outcomes
from the learning process. Equitherapy
also develops the child’s ability to
conceive, plan and execute
that which needs to be done.
Equitherapy is also beneficial in developing
muscle tone as the child continuously
uses core muscles to balance. The child’s
self-esteem and self-confidence
are cultivated in a fun filled and stress
free environment. The interaction between
the pony and the child also improves
the child’s social and behavioural
skills. Equitherapy also helps the child
with physical handicaps, psychological
problems and assists children to gain
self-understanding and emotional
growth.
We use our ponies to create a stress
free environment where the child, through
‘play’
is given the chance to learn
new skills.
The actual therapist is the pony itself.
The pony represents the most important
qualities during therapy and ultimately
encourages the child to do her/his best! |

“There is something about the outside of a horse
that is good for the inside of a man.”
