Background information:
CCT Pre-Primary and Day care Centre opened their doors in 1998. The Centre is managed by the College and offers the Early Childhood Development students a wonderful experience to work hands on with the children.
Our mission:
• To provide a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for our children.
• To provide a stimulating early care and educational experience which promotes each child’s social/emotional,
physical and cognitive development.
• To provide the latest information of the curriculums (CAPS & NCF) to our students as well as teachers in the field.
Curriculums:
• We follow the CAPS curriculum as prescribed by WCED.
The 3 subjects are MATHEMATICS, HOME LANGUAGE, LIFE SKILLS.
• We follow the NCF (New Curriculum Framework) as prescribed by the Department of Education for 3 months to 5 year olds.
We focus on the “whole child” approach in our method of teaching. The curriculum is designed with early learning goals in mind:
» Well-being (safety, physical development)
» Identity & Belonging (personal, social & emotional development)
» Communication (language, literacy)
» Mathematics (Thinking and memory skills, reasoning & numeracy)
» Creativity (problem – solving, music, visual art)
» Knowledge and Understanding of the world (Explore & design)
About us:
• Our qualified, experienced and passionate staff follow a structured Daily Program where learning takes place through PLAY!
• We are open all year round, only closing for part of December and January.
• Open 06:00 – 18:00 (Monday – Friday)
• We offer after care facilities (included in the fees)
• Nutritional meals provided daily ( breakfast, lunch and pm snack)
• Weekly topics and educational activities
• Regular outings
