Tania Schrire
I am a well-qualified ECD (early childhood
development) practitioner with 25 years
very varied experience in many parts of
the world. My daughter was born in Australia
in 2000,
and after moving back to SA, from January
2002 until December 2006 I ran a playschool
from my home, for 12 children aged between
18 months and 3 years.
I started Village Nannies in 2003.
Jacky Amato
From 1980 to 1990, I had 10 years childcare
experience, teaching 3-4 year olds at
two different pre-schools. From 1990 to
1995, I successfully ran a small gift business
from home, until my son was born. After
my son started Grade 1, I managed and
coached at a children's fun gym from 2000
to 2005.
I started working at Village Nannies in
May 2008.

As
such we are well placed to advise you
in the selection of a suitable candidate
to
care for your most precious possession
– your children, in your specific circumstances.
We will help you to assess your family’s
particular needs, and the most appropriate
type of person to fill them.
|
 |
|
What
we offer
|
We screen all candidates extensively,
check references and interview
them
personally. This includes
ensuring that
they speak and understand
English or Afrikaans
well, and that they have at
least one year of full-time
experience
with children under 2 years
of age.
You may also contact
the references
yourself if you so wish,
as sometimes
referees are more forthcoming
to
potential employers.
We will arrange for you to interview
3
candidates, or more if
needed, in your
own home, at your convenience.
We are happy to advise you on
all
aspects of the process,
eg deciding
what your needs are, interview
questions, etc.
We recommend that candidates
travelling
by public transport be
reimbursed for
their travelling expenses,
usually R25.
We arrange for at least one week’s
trial period to see
how the candidate
integrates with your
family and how you
relate to each other.
Tania will come to
your home to facilitate
the signing of a
contract between you and
the employee.
We also provide you with the
UIF forms
and payslip templates.
We offer an
ongoing mediation and support
service
to help maintain a
positive working
relationship.
We guarantee that during a three
month replacement
period, should you or the chosen
candidate decide to terminate
your employment relationship,
we will
replace her free of charge.
